Principal's Message

Greetings Eastmont Tigers,

Welcome to Eastmont Intermediate! My name is Naomi Sotelo and am currently Principal of Eastmont Intermediate. I have been a proud employee of the Montebello Unified School District as a classified and certificated employee since 1997 and am honored to be back serving the students, staff and community of Eastmont Intermediate!

Our staff is committed to the academic and social emotional well-being of our students in order to make them college and career ready, productive citizens of the global community and lifelong
learners. Our goals are to ensure that every student, including English Language Learners, are performing at or above grade-level in both Mathematics and Language Arts. Our teachers
receive ongoing professional learning opportunities in the use of evidence based instructional practices, English Language Development (ELD), technology and Common Core State Standards
(CCSS) to develop critical thinkers through rigorous literacy, reading, writing and math instruction. Teacher development is continuously occurring through our Professional Learning
Community/Data Teams.

We are proud of our TIGER PRIDE and all the wonderful activities that our students may participate in such as AVID, art, band, computer science, mariachi, cheer and other sports through our school day and AYA afterschool program.

Parent involvement in our school and the lives of our students is also of upmost importance. Parents are the primary teachers of our students; and our mission is to work as a team for the
betterment of our students’ academic success. Our doors are always open to our parents.

Eastmont offers various forums for parent participation from campus tours, Back to School Night, parent conferences, Open House, PTA, parent workshops, our parent committees: ELAC,
SSC and “Book Club with the Principal”.

As we continue to work as a team, please feel free to call, email or come by to speak with me at [email protected] or 323-721-5133.

Sincerely,
Ms. Sotelo
Principal
